14A – Halfway Reflection
1. To keep up with the requirements of this course, I have made a schedule of doing the assignments the day they are due. I feel like this isn’t the best way to do things, but I usually wake us at eight in the morning on Fridays and Mondays, giving me four hours to complete everything. I do like doing it this way because it keeps me from procrastinating while doing it, because there is the time factor keeping me motivated of only having a couple of hours to do it. If you don’t work well under stress, then I do not recommend doing this.
2. There’s been times where I haven’t felt like watching the lectures and doing the assignments, but I just think of how every assignment matters towards my grade and just pull through and do it. The elevator pitch is definitely an example of this, where I knew it wouldn’t be to difficult to do, because I have made many elevator pitches before, but I was just feeling lazy and had a lot of work from other classes to do. I just kept thinking about my grade and did it, and was actually pretty happy with how it came out.
3. My first tip would be to either go to lectures or watch them online. I usually get around a five out of five or close to it when I watch the lectures for the cupcakes, but one time I didn’t, and I got a 0.2 on the cupcake. I was upset I scored so low, but it showed me the importance of keeping up with lectures, and now I watch them all before I take the cupcakes. My second tip would be to make sure you choose a business idea that you are passionate about for your blog and elevator pitch. If you are passionate about it, I feel like you would be more willing to do the work and be tenacious. My third tip would be to always think creatively. I feel like the more creatively you think on doing the assignments the more tenacious you will become.

Dear Matthew,
ReplyDeleteI too wake up early in the morning on days some assignments are due, so I have enough time to finish certain projects. I agree that procrastination can hinder your success in this class, so it is best to stay on top of assignments. I think the first time, to either go to lectures or watch them online, is important because it really helps on the cupcakes.
Hey Matthew! I know you said you wake up early the day things are due to complete them and I think that’s great if it works well for you. Personally, I look early in the week what’s going to be due so that I can start working on it and so I can plan what I need to do and when. Time management is extremely important in college so I think it’s good that you do what works for you. I agree that the lectures are really important for the assignments and the cupcakes! Great Job!
