Bug List
Matthew Repke
- My scooter is to slow. - Bought a scooter being told it could go around 45 mph, but in reality it goes only 35.
- Hidden fees in my rent. - The lease way to long and complicated, and written in a way to trick the renter with hidden fees.
- The place I get my suit dry cleaned at doesn't deliver- When I get my suit dry cleaned I have to pick it up on my scooter which wrinkles it.
- When I am home and get my car cleaned, it never cleans my chrome wheels- Chrome gets break dust on them which requires a special cleaner to dissolve and the car wash places I go do not have it.
- Wireless charges fall off- I use wireless charges to charge my phone because the port is broken and wish it was magnetic to stay on the phone when I use it.
- It sucks scooting in the rain- When I ride my scooter in the rain I get wet, but cant wear proper rain gear because there is no storage on my scooter.
- Noisy people outside my apartment- The windows on my apartment face the pool and they are very thin so I hear people late at night swimming and being loud.
- The walls in my apartment are thin- I hear my roommate very loud and late at night when he has guest spend the night.
- Applying for internships is redundant- I have to fill in the same information over and over again for every internship application.
- No parking by my apartment- There is literally no place to park at my apartment and have to walk far to park.
- I constantly have to polish my dress shoes- My leather dress shoes keep getting scuffed and it takes forever to polish them by hand properly.
- My WiFi is so slow- My router literally freezes and shuts down because the WiFi is slow at my apartment, and can't do anything about it because they use old technology.
- Not enough right turn lanes- a lot of smaller streets turning on to big streets at intersections in Gainesville have no right turn lanes so if the person in front is going straight you have to wait.
- Going over speed bumps on a scooter is killing my shocks- a lot of speed bumps are really high so I have to go over them at 2 mph even though cars can go over them doing 20 mph or else it can damage my shocks, but when I slow down cars behind me get mad.
- Not enough storage on my scooter for grocery shopping- Can't fit a lot of groceries and there is no options for additional storage for my type of scooter.
- Wireless charger can fit only one phone- I have to have multiple wireless chargers for multiple devices because they don't sell any big enough for more than one device.
- No room to store helmet on my scooter- most scooters have a storage for helmets but mine is a different style does not and cannot fit a storage box on it meant for a traditional scooter.
- When I scoot my friends there isn't enough room and they to close- wish there was a type of foam pad or something to keep my friends from sliding on my scooter and getting to close when on the back.
- No pencil sharpeners in UF classrooms- when I take an exam and need to sharpen my pencil a lot of class rooms do not have sharpeners and I always loose the little personal ones I buy.
- Not enough room in classes- I want to go to classes in UF in person but have to watch some online because the rooms get full and I have a bad back and can't sit on the floor for that long.
Reflection:
I found this assignment not as difficult as I expected. Once I though of something that bugged me it was easy to go from there. First I though of my scooter and then used that to come up with multiple bugs such as it being slow, there being no storage, and lack of parking. Keeping this train of thought made it easy to keep going and finish the list
I really enjoyed reading this list, however, since I do not have a scooter a lot of these problems I did not really understand or they just were not relatable to me. This showed me how important it is to figure out who your customers are as you try to find people who have similar problems as you. I really liked that most of your bugs were related to the scooter as it was very specific and maybe a one solution can solve more than one of these bugs. One thing that you can improve is to maybe think of more broad problems that might relate to more people
ReplyDeleteDear Matthew,
ReplyDeleteI, too, can empathize with some of the issues you expressed on your bug list. I noticed a lot of your bugs are connected to problems related to your scooter. Since a large percentage of college students ride scooters, I think it is essential to invest in research to solve some of these problems. Hidden fees in rent are also something that bugs me that I think would solve a lot of issues for students.
